Law Society, Windows XP and FIPS Compliance

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Share on LinkedInEmail this to someone

With the recent flurry of information to move everyone away from Windows XP, the Law Society has made is position clear – you can’t store data on a system that is not FIPS compliant – and now Windows XP is not supported by Microsoft, it is not FIPS compliant.

FIPS compliance basically sets the standard for PC security and encryption, if it’s not FIPS compliant you shouldn’t use it to store any information.

For a really boring read – you can check out FIPS compliance here:

If you are still using an XP workstation or laptop, we suggest you take another look at your data – if you are in business and store any client information or a personal nature, you need to migrate to Windows 7 as soon as possible.

Let us know and we can help mitigate the struggle for you!
